This musical is set against the backdrop of WWII, an era that has gathered a sort of romantic patina although it was a particularly difficult time in our nation’s history. Then before I knew it, I was getting sentimental over some of the more poignant moments in the piece. When reading the script, I found myself laughing out loud at some of the lines and antics that ensue as they try to pull of this wacky version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The cast is a bit larger than we are used to in the holiday show and there is definitely more of a storyline. There is some traditional holiday music as well as a few new tunes, which is always exciting. That’s what first intrigued me about the project. ![]() You do not have to attend the Broadway Rose production in order to attend the talk-back.Ī 1940’s Radio Christmas Carol is a little different from our usual fare.
